Congratulations to Ikin who won a research prize from the most exclusive and most prestigious constituent college of the Pamantasan ng Oxbarrio! This will allow her to continue her groundbreaking anthropological work in the Cordilleras! She must be the first Pinoy ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Dapat ma-diaryo ito!!!!!!)
Entayo agbungar!!!

Ashley, magkaharap na kami ng bagong college ni Ikin!
10 gave us some lovin':
sosyal. congrats mo ako sa kanya. hoy ha. ang all souls college, dalawa lang ang studyante noong oras ko pa dyan.
diyan mo makikita ang exacting standards nila. they'd rather not have students than pass anyone for the sake of having students.
I'm so happy for Ikin!
Many thanks for the praise-release.
Nash, sino siya, ano full name, tagasaan, at ano ang kanyang research tungkol sa Cordillera? Wala pa bang press release sa Philippine newspapers? more info, please!
nashman, mlq3 mentioned it without details, http://thenashman.blogspot.com/2008/05/one-prize-to-rule-them-all.html
kudos to her.
apologies for the late response, i was sick.
mang ed, ikin is known in baguio media and academic circles. you probably know her as she writes for the inquirer northern bureau
i was joking at the 'dapat madiaryo' remark. knowing ikin, she's probably happy already to to have won a notoriously difficult research prize and a praise release in the local media would be a distraction to the research she is doing on preserving indigenous knowledge.
but yes, I will ask. baka naman pwedeng gawan siya ng one-page ad sa midland courier para maiba naman sa mga usual na kasal kasal sa hotel supreme...
i asked mr. cimatu if this ikin is the ma'am ikin from up baguio. looks like i'm mistaken. the ikin i'm referring to is supposedly in oxford (right now) for her Phd (i think).
nyek..ikaw naman...ilang ikin ba na taga-baguio ang meron? is it a common name
wala lang. commendable din kasi yung ikin na yun. biruin mo oxford.
anyway, galing din nitong ikin na to. sa ganun kataas na standard (they'd rather have no students...) swak pa rin sya.
sorry very slow processing skills. looks like it is the same ikin.
and yep, ikin is somewhat common in my circle.
super congrats!
