The Dawgs Travel Diary: Londontown

His Royal Orangeness Karl Willem, PA/PR Gromit, and The Nashman took their first chu-chu train from Hampshire to London to commence their first Xmas Vacation in 2 years. Aaah, London during the rush up to Xmas is a hive of supercapitalism. Shops are packed and cash registers are singing. This year was no different, recession be damned. The Nashman took a short familiar walking tour - early dinner at Green Cafe (well, that's what I call it) in Chinatown, then Picadilly to wonder why tourists stretch there arms out to be photographed under LED signs (Toy at Ineng, wala ba kuryente at Coca-Cola sa bayan niyo?), then spent some minutes at PA/PR Gromit's favourite men's store (Duchamp, on Regent Street, charming Greek saleslady), the National Geographic Shop (para feeling mo expeditioner ka), Hamleys (to look at toys of course!), the Apple store (libreng internet cafe ng bayan) to check email, then SoHo to browse tools and Oscar-worthy movies at the sex shops and to admire the oldest profession do its thang while drinking a mojito across the street, and finally at St. Pancras, to have chocolate before bed and to admire the beautiful Victorian train station. (Grabe, yung katabi kong table ang ingay. Tatlo sila pero isang babae lang ang dada ng dada ng dada in high volume. Gad, I wonder how it is she even has two friends willing to sit through all her pagpuputak. Mag-aalaga nalang ako ng manok.)

Prince Charles you naughty boy...

London had a starfishnet motif for this year's Holidays.

SoHo, wohooo. Shagedelic, baby.

That's John Betjeman and far behind him...

...is the 40 foort sculpture of two lizard faced lovers....
